AAACN Member Capt. Andrea Petrovanie Receives Certified Nurse Award

Captain Andrea C. Petrovanie, MSN, RN-BC, a member of AAACN and Senior Nurse/High Reliability Officer at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA, recently received the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) 2019 Certified Nurse Award in the Ambulatory Care Nursing category.

Capt. Petrovanie currently serves on AAACN's Nominating Committee. She has been a member of AAACN for more than 19 years, and has served as co-chair of the Tri-Service Military SIG. She was also a reviewer for the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Telehealth Nursing, 6th Edition.

According to ANCC, winners of this award have demonstrated the value and impact that specialty certification has on nursing practice and patient outcomes. Through certification, these nurses have provided superior care to their patients and become even greater assets to their employer.

Winners are cited for advancing their nursing specialty through innovation, collaboration, leadership and professional risk-taking, as well as patient-centered care.
