Green Tip of the Month

Water is one of our most precious resources. Did you know in the United States, average water consumption per person in 2008 was 126.5 gallons daily? This statistic is pretty amazing and we hope it makes you think about the water you waste: rinsing dishes before you put them in the dishwasher, running the water while you brush your teeth, taking a long shower, watering your grass, washing your car, and more. We invite you to get a little "greener" by making an effort to conserve water whenever you can.

Invest in Your Nurses - Consider Group Membership for Your Facility

Facilities that provide continuing education for nurses experience better retention rates and have more satisfied nurses. AAACN can help you provide this education and enhance professional development for your nurses. We offer special group membership dues rates to facilities that would like to invest in nurses in a cost-effective way.

New Snapshots Show States Vary Widely in Providing Quality Health Care

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) annual report of state-by-state quality data continues to give States mixed reviews for the quality of care they provide. The report identifies state-specific health care quality information, including strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. No state does well or poorly on all quality measures. New sections this year focus on asthma and disparities.

Help AAACN Grow Through the Member-get-a-Member Campaign

The Member-get-a-Member campaign runs through December 31, 2009. With this annual campaign, we ask you, our members, to each get at least one new member by letting colleagues know about the benefits of being a member and why AAACN membership is important to you. Members who recruit 3 or more members receive a $100 AAACN certificate. The member who recruits the most new members (6 or more) will receive airfare, hotel, and registration to next year's conference in Las Vegas, May 3-6, 2010.
