Rebecca Newman, Advocacy Committee Chair, represented AAACN recently in the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) Hill Day, joining 43 nurses and advocates from 28 national nursing organizations to meet with congressional offices and advocate for nursing education, workforce development, and research.
During the event, AAACN highlighted the important role of ambulatory care nurses and supported efforts to increase funding for nursing workforce programs and nursing research. Meetings with congressional staff provided an opportunity to share the impact of ambulatory care nursing and the needs of nurses nationwide.
The event was a valuable opportunity to collaborate with nursing leaders from across the country and ensure the voice of ambulatory care nursing was represented in important healthcare policy discussions.
