AAACN/DAISY Awards
The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN), the premier organization representing nurses working in all outpatient settings, invites nominations for the AAACN National DAISY® Award honoring an ambulatory care nurse who provides exemplary patient care and leadership.
AAACN/DAISY Nurse of the Year Award
Eligibility Criteria:
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships through compassion, respect for person, integrity, and professionalism in delivery of care to ambulatory care patients and families.
- Engages patients and members of the interprofessional team in improving health outcomes that address disparities and social determinants of health.
- Delivers person-centered, high quality, safe and effective evidence-based care.
- Promotes interprofessional collegial working relationships.
- Leads beyond the individual encounter—mentors others, advocates for recognition of nursing’s essential contributions, and influences systems, standards, and decision making in ambulatory care.
Award:
A plaque presented at the Annual Conference and one year of AAACN Membership.
AAACN/DAISY Nurse Leader of the Year Award
Eligibility Criteria:
- Distinguished career as a nurse in clinical practice, administration, education, and/or research that promote a positive image of Ambulatory Care Nursing.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships through compassionate care, respect for person, integrity, and professionalism.
- Demonstrates and actively engages in the professional development of self and others in Ambulatory Care Nursing.
- Serves as a professional role model and advocate for nursing practice and the advancement of Ambulatory Care Nursing.
- Advocates for the improvement of patient care and serves as an exemplar for enhancing the patient experience.
- Recognized by the broader nursing community as a transformational Ambulatory Care Nursing leader.
- Promotes, encourages and exemplifies active participation in AAACN.
Award:
A plaque presented at the Annual Conference and one year of AAACN Membership.
