Ambulatory Care Tabs of the ANPD Clinical Matrix
The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Clinical Education Matrix Task Force worked with the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to develop new ambulatory care tabs for the ANPD Clinical Education Matrix, which serves as a guide to education required by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
The new ambulatory tabs are a collaboration between AAACN and ANPD and include accrediting, onboarding, and regulatory requirements for ambulatory clinical education. This education matrix is considered a living document and will be updated annually.
The ambulatory tabs from the Matrix are available to AAACN members to download in spreadsheet format, allowing nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners to filter by column title (i.e., Topic, Standard, etc.) to easily research information, in the following tabs:
- Ambulatory – TJC
- Ambulatory – AAAHC, NPSG, CMS, ACHD
The complete Clinical Education Matrix is available exclusively to ANPD members and includes information on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), DNV Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), The Joint Commission (TJC), and more.
The ambulatory care tabs are maintained by AAACN’s ANPD Team, who updates the content annually.
Disclaimer: The Clinical Education Matrix is a guideline for required education, not an official document. Requirements for education vary based on many factors, and some states may have requirements in addition to those portrayed on the Matrix. Each organization is responsible for ascertaining the education required for its staff.
