HEALTH BYTES: Nurse Self-care

Over 80 percent of nurse respondents said they suffered from significant stress, according to an American Nurses Association survey. Nurses often work overtime and skip breaks, in part due to nationwide nursing shortages, and they may forget to take care of themselves in the process.

New AAACN Award!

Carol Rutenberg Telephone Triage Research/EBP Project Award - named in honor of Carol Rutenberg, RN-BC, C-TNP, MNSc, will be awarded annually to one AAACN member working in a telehealth or telephone triage position to assist with conducting telephone triage nursing research or an EBP project.

AAACN Leaders Chosen as Academy Fellows

Pitman, NJ – Deena Gilland, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, of Covington, GA, a director on the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Board of Directors; and Stephanie Witwer, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, of Pine Island, MN, have been chosen by the American Academy of Nursing (Academy) to the 2019 class of Academy fellows, one of the most prestigious honors in nursing.
