AAACN Endorses National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS)

AAACN will continue to support and endorse the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2011/2012 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS), the only national survey of patient visits made to private, office-based, non-Federal physicians in the United States. AAACN provided a letter of endorsement that will be sent to physicians in an attempt to enlist them into the survey.

Information for Oncology Nurses from AAACN Member Barb Pacca

Joanne Heitzman is a survivor of Leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a cancer of the smooth muscle tissues, and the aunt of AAACN member Barb Pacca. The new Joanne Heitzman Medical Database was recently launched as a tool to help researchers in finding treatments and a cure for LMS.

The database will be populated with information from a Comprehensive Medical Questionnaire (also created by Barb's aunt) in hopes that researchers will be able to confidentially match the information with tissue samples from the same donor.
