AAACN/DAISY Award of the Year in Ambulatory
AAACN is proud to partner with The DAISY Foundation to present The AAACN/DAISY Award of the Year in Ambulatory, recognizing ambulatory care nurses who exemplify clinical excellence and compassionate care. This award is inspired by the memory of J. Patrick Barnes, whose family experienced the profound impact of exceptional nursing firsthand.
Nominate an ambulatory care nurse who goes above and beyond for their patients, families, and team and meets the following criteria:
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships through compassion, respect for person, integrity, and professionalism in delivery of care to ambulatory patients and families
- Engages patients and members of the interprofessional team in improving health outcomes that address disparities and social determinants of health
- Delivers person-centered, high quality, safe and effective evidence-based care. Promotes interprofessional collegial working relationships
- Promotes and encourages active participation in AAACN
The award winner will receive a plaque and one year membership and be recognized at the AAACN 51st Annual Conference in Orlando, April 2026.

AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Hall of Fame Award
The AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Hall of Fame Award will recognize a current or past AAACN member whose contribution to AAACN and to ambulatory care nursing has resulted in a significant impact that elevated ambulatory care nursing practice and demonstrated engagement and commitment to the organization.
Nominate a nurse who has had a significant impact in shaping ambulatory care nursing through nursing excellence, leadership, and innovation and meets the qualifying criteria:
• Current or past membership in AAACN.
• Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse (RN) who is active or retired.
• Current Leadership Development and Nominating Committee or the Board of Director members are excluded.
• Must have at least 10 years of experience in ambulatory care nursing.
• Candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by someone else.
The award winner will receive $500 and a plaque and be recognized at the AAACN 51st Annual Conference in Orlando, April 2026.
