Cynthia Murray, a dedicated AAACN volunteer and tireless advocate for veterans, has been selected Clinical Nurse Advisor (CNA), Primary Care, for VA Central Office/Office of Nursing Services (VACO ONS).

This is a newly created role within the  VACO ONS focused on ambulatory care. As part of her role as the CNA, Cynthia will be the subject matter expert (SME) nationally for anything related to primary care nursing within the VA.

Cynthia told her AAACN colleagues: "None of this would have been possible without the mentoring I received from each of you personally, through your leadership at AAACN and your collective published works."

She has dedicated her career after witnessing the barriers her Navy father had to accessing high-quality care in his community, forcing him to travel long distances for even basic primary care.

"I promised him that someday I would make sure that all vets received local, high-quality primary care where they live," she said. "Mission accomplished, Pop. Thanks to all of you for all of your support! Now let’s dream big for AAACN and our VA SIG and it’s increasing impact on care to our nations hero’s through over 100,000 VA nurses strong!
